Social Scene
Delta Chi's participate in all sorts of social events throughout the year. During the Fall and Winter quarters, Delta Chi holds a date party in downtown Chicago. In the past, this has included seeing a show or musical (Young Frankenstein and Spamelot) or going ice skating at Millennium Park. During the Spring quarter, we typically have a formal at local Chicago venues including the Willis Tower and the Drake Hotel. In addition, each Fall Delta Chi holds its annual registered party, which is a a blacklight party that includes a DJ, glowsticks and tons of blacklit rooms.
As a part of the Northwestern community, Delta Chi plays a large role in the social aspect of campus life. Each fall, Delta Chi partners with a sorority to construct a float for the Northwestern Homecoming Parade in which we have placed as one of the top three floats continuously over the past few years (including first place in 2011). Delta Chi also participates in Greek Week, which brought us another first place victory in 2011. After recruitment week at the beginning of Winter quarter, Delta Chi participates in Gone Greek Night, in which the Delta Chi new member class singing to sororities followed by a night of dancing at a venue in Chicago. During Spring Quarter, Delta Chi participates in the annual Maysing competition in which brothers partner with a sorority and multicultural fraternity or sorority to compete in a lip syncing dance competition. Being the 2009 and 2010 champions, we take this competition pretty seriously! Delta Chi also participates in the many events within the Greek Community. Brothers attend philanthropy events, shows, and performances put on by the many different student groups at Northwestern.
